Special Celebratory Clan Gathering - 30th & 31st May 2026

Dear Clan Members,

​

As plans continue to take shape for our Special Celebratory Clan Gathering in Dumfriesshire, I wanted to write with a little update and to ask for your help.

The weekend of 30th and 31st May 2026 is now firmly set, and we are very much looking forward to welcoming as many of you from our global family as possible.

​

Amongst the interesting plans already in place are our Clan Society AGM, which will be held on the Saturday afternoon at the Cairndale Hotel in Dumfries, and a very special Open Garden event on the Sunday afternoon at Applegarth House and Church. It feels particularly meaningful that we will be able to gather there together.

Other elements of the weekend are still being finalised, and we will be sharing all of those details with you very soon.

Lady Jardine and I, together with our family, will be staying at the Cairndale Hotel for the duration of the weekend. The hotel has kindly offered Clan members 15% discount when booking directly and mentioning the Jardine Gathering. (May I gently remind everyone that accommodation arrangements do need to be made individually.)

​

To help us at this stage, it would be enormously helpful to have an indication of who may be joining us. If you are intending to attend, I would be most grateful if you could email jardineglobal1@gmail.com and let us know:

• How many will be in your party
• Which day(s) you expect to attend
• Whether you anticipate having your own transport for the weekend

Announcement 1:

We would like to share some news with our Clan Jardine members around the world:

​

The recent purchase of Applegarth Church by The Friends of Applegarth Church marks a truly significant moment in the history of the Jardine family and the Applegarth community. To celebrate this occasion and to coincide with a number of Clan Jardine members travelling from the United States, we are planning a Special Celebratory Clan Gathering in Dumfriesshire at the end of May 2026 (Sat 30th and Sun 31st) to which all Clan Society members are invited.

​

The gathering is intended to mark this particular historical moment and will very much revolve around Applegarth Church. Over the weekend, a number of traditional Clan Gathering excursions and events will take place, including our Clan Society AGM.

With the date approaching quickly, Andrena Duffin and I are busily working through the arrangements and shaping a weekend that will be of real interest and value to clan members. A full itinerary will be confirmed in due course. Watch this space.
